Yacht Charter
The Aegean Sea including the Turkish coast as well as the Greek islands is one of the most beautiful and interesting sailing areas of the world, both in landscape and navigational terms as well as in culinary and cultural terms. One could fairly describe this region as the "cradle of European culture." Many ancient buildings and monuments from prehistoric times can be visited still today.
Since trips to Turkey are getting easier, the exchange rate euro to lira has become very good, and because of the delicious food, more and more sailors choose to spend their sailing holidays on the Turkish Coast. Also medical care in Turkey is as good as in Europe and it is no problem to arrive at an airport located near of one of our bases (from airport Izmir to Cesme/Alacati 45 minutes; from airport Bodrum to Turgutreis 45 minutes).
The prevailing summer wind (Meltemi) ensures a pleasant climate as well on the Greek islands as in the bays along the Turkish coast and allows longer sailing trips without many engine hours. This is guaranteed also by our well-equipped Bavaria charter- yachts which have excellent beating qualities and allow you quick, convenient and safe cruises.
In recent years the relations between Greece und Turkey have greatly improved. The port officials are usually very professional and friendly. This also applies to yachts under Turkish flag. The Check-In is now relatively easy, sometimes combined with some walking.
This allows an easy change between Turkish coast and Greek islands.
The entire sailing area offers both ambitious cracks as well as families with children a lot of sailing possibilities which I have described in the “Route Recommendations”.
To mix the described itineraries and pick up the most adequate for you, why not?
Especially for a multi-week-cruise, whether from our base Cesme / Alacati or from our base Bodrum / Turgutreis, never mind. Why not one week sailing to the North and the other week to the south, or one week into the Hisarönü Gulf, the second week into the Gökova Gulf, or
one week Turkish coast
the other week Greek Islands?
Indeed, even one-way trips to Fethiye or to the Marmara Sea through the Dardanelles to Istanbul are quite feasible.
The navigation should not pose any problems. The capes, shoals and port entrances are marked by beacons and tides are not existent.
We wish you a great sailing experience!
