CESME
 

Cesme has known as Cyssus in the ancient times and in 1000 BC. it was harbour of Erythrai-one of the 12 Ionian cities. Today Cesme is envolving in the borders of third biggest city, Izmir and just 80 kilometers away from Izmir city center, 110 kilometers away from the international airport ADB.  It covers an area of 2601 km2, at an attitude of 5 meters above sea level. According to general census in 2000, the total population of the district is 37.352 of this population, 25.557 inhabitants live in the town center and 12.115 inhabitants live in outer borough and the villages.

Çeşme derives its name from the Turkish word for Fountain has always been a popular summer resort for the residents of nearby Izmir and over recent years the “secrets” of Çeşme have been discovered by an ever growing number of European tourists.The region is a combination of rich agricultural land enclosing unspoiled turquoise bays with beaches of fine white sand and as its name suggests natural hot water springs.

As with most places in Turkey, Cesme has a long history and this is apparent from the Castle found in the center of town that dates from the 14th century, next door you will find the Karavan Saray added in he 16th Century. The Castle is now used to house an Exhibition Center / Art Gallery, Restaurant and Bar whilst the Karavan Saray is a Hotel and Restaurant. It’s worth taking a walk around the Castle or even having a meal or drink in there, the place is full of atmosphere and there is a collection of Cannons, Stone Cannon Balls and other weaponry to interest the kids.

The main street and a couple of side streets are scattered with little stalls, which is typical of Turkey, selling oriental rugs, jewellery, leather and a generous selection of traditional Turkish souvenirs.
Turkish style open markets are also available, where you can buy a selection of hand made items which are produced locally.

The markets where fresh food and drinks offered are opened on Sundays in Cesme Center, Saturdays in Alacati Center. Don’t leave Cesme before you taste the delicious Cesme Melon, “Kumru” special sandwich of Cesme differs with its bread and ingredients, Cesme Mastic Jam called “Sakiz Receli” inTurkish.

Cesme offers a rich variety of water sports, from windsurfing to sailing, and from snorkeling to scuba diving. Cesme awaits you all with its extrairdinarily lively and colorful night-life, with its unique summer breeze, and natural beauties.

Cesme Marina

Cesme Marina is designed to serve all seasons for 350 yachts per year. The old Port of Cesme was designed to allow bigger ships to moor and depart as well. The new Marina is prepared in the name of supporting tourism in Cesme and high demand from the region. It is our base port where our Bavaria yachts located like the marine itself, we have been located in the heart of Cesme, just right opposite of the Cesme Castle in city center. With the operations of Marine Management, Cesme marine will provide more facilities and expected to be more crowded in very near future.


Alacati Marina

Alacati Marina, located in the natural Agriler harbour offers good shelter all around the year. This marina recently activated aims to be center of Sailing and Surfing with the port Alacati project. The facilities currently offered are limited.


Altinyunus Setur Marina

At Setur Çeşme Marina, carrying blue flag, the mooring service in given continously for 24 hours by marina dinghy. Besides, hauling the yachts in and out and pressure washing, battery charge, bilge control, aeration, engine running, etc. are some of the winterising and periodical maintenance services of the marina.The average depth in Setur çeşme Marina is 4 meters.

Alacati

Alacati, a unique Mediterranean town on the Western coast of Turkey, which has been famous for its architecture, vineyards and windmills for over 150 years. The unique historical Alacati houses has ben an inspire to new achitecture designs. Alacati has now made its name in the world of windsurfing and kitesurfing, with its crystal clear water, consistent and steady wind (for an average of 300 days a year) and well acclaimed Turkish hospitality. And it is planing to be Venice of Turkey with its port Alacati project


Ildir


Known as Erythrai, Ildir was one of a union of 12 Ionian Unions, it was in condition of being extensive and important settlement place in 6 B.C. It is known that, Erythrai which had a widely protective harbor, commercial ties with Egypt, Cyprus an Western countries and evolved its trade. Ildir is situated 22 km north-east of Cesme, on a small peninsula stretching into the Bay of Erythrai, at an equal distance from the mountains Mimas and Corycus, and directly opposite the island of Chios. In the peninsula, excellent wine was produced. Modern Ildir is a considerable place and port, extending from the ancient harbour to the acropolis


Dalyan

Dalyan is a fishing village built on a sheltered deep water inlet just north of Çeşme. It has been famous with the region's best fish restaurants border the quay of the lively natural Dalyan marina which provides morrings to small fishing boats to large motor yachts. Ayayorgi Beach very close to Dalyan, just next bay, is a base for many beach clubs where day and night entertainments never last during the summer. Those beach clubs are packed with many people including Turkish celebreties.
